Daily Life is not all roses...

How many of us thought that we would ever even be able to raise children for the Lord? I never gave it a thought when I had my first one. I did confess that he was a blessing from my Heavenly Father, but beyond that, I was just amazed at the miracle of life that I held in my hands. Somehow, even though I was not saved at the time, I knew that God had a majorly instrumental role in creating that precious little one and I knew that Beau was a big blessing in a time of my life that was in constant turmoil.

Beau turned out to be the first of many blessings for me. I am now expecting our seventh child and am still amazed that God would use a person like me to raise these precious little ones. I am not perfect and I will not even pretend to be. I have days when mothering children gets to me. I get frustrated, disappointed, discouraged and beat-up by the overwhelming task that is at hand. But I also know that my source is not me, but God. I have to turn to Him at these times and pray really hard for His strength to continue. It is not always easy by any means, but I know that I am called to this sometimes formidable task. I have to then regroup myself, and fix my eyes on the Creator and not my circumstances. Sometimes this is easy and other times it takes me days!

Being a mom is not all roses by any means. It means dealing with personalities and diapers. It means being a mom when we don't always want to. It means that we are called upon 24/7 no matter what. Getting a day off is rare to say the least, but it is well worth it in the long run. Sleep deprivation seems to go with the territory most of the time, especially if you have little ones in the house. Being a mom is both exhausting and exuberating at the same time. But the rewards are well worth the work.

Hang in there mom, someday it will be worth it all and then you will find yourself missing those years of sleepless nights and food on the floor. God bless you as you work for the Lord in what the world would tell you is the most unrewarding occupation on the planet. But in reality is the most rewarding occupation in the Kingdom of God.
