If my day could have only gone,
The way that I had planned;
From the rising of the sun
To the sleeping of the land

If I had only accomplished all that was needed to be done
If I only had just had a few seconds more
If only I had just not had all those interruptions
If only I had just been left alone

When I only need to just get my work all done

Lord help me, I pray right now
To see all the good that came from this wasted day
If in the heavenly scheme of life I have managed to do well
Then let me know in my heart what is in heaven to tell

You, oh Lord, are the one to be glorified
Sometimes my plans and yours are as different as you and I
But, Father, you know best
Let it be for your grand plan and not for mine

Let your kingdom go forward and your name be glorified
When my plans are changed
From the rising of the sun to the setting of the same
For you, Lord God, are the one to be Magnified.
